Recipe: Ojas Bites

these ojas bites are a great snack for quick energy or a sweet fix. dates and almonds are traditionally considered rasayana or rejuvenative foods that boost your immunity and vitality. you can use any nut butter or seeds that you have on hand.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup natural almond butter

  • 8 Medjool dates, pits removed

  • 1/8 c raisins

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/4 cup toasted nuts and seeds [sunflower, sesame and pumpkin are favorites]

  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut

  • 1/8 cup cacao nibs

  • pinch cinnamon

  • pinch or two of himalayan salt

Method:

  • chop dates and raisins in food processor or blender

  • add oats and blend

  • in a separate bowl, combine nut butter and a few tablespoons hot water, mix till smooth

  • add oats and date mixture to nut butter and combine

  • add remaining ingredients, mix till combined

  • take a spoonful of mixture and roll into bite sized balls

  • refrigerate for 1 hour

  • enjoy!

I love to have these with a cup of tea or after a meal for something sweet. These travel well and are great for hikes too.
